WSH Guidelines on Flammable Materials

Fires pose a significant risk to workplace safety, causing extensive property damage, serious injuries, and loss of lives. While highly flammable liquids like petrol and solvents are obvious fuel sources, less apparent materials like sawdust and metal particles can also ignite under the right conditions.

This course provides participants with practical guidance on managing the risks associated with flammable materials in the workplace. It is designed for industries where smaller quantities of flammable substances are used regularly, offering essential insights into Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) practices. Participants will learn about the various types of flammable materials—both organic and inorganic, in solid, liquid, or gaseous forms—that can easily ignite and lead to fires. These materials include petroleum-derived oils, volatile organic compounds, and other substances regulated under the Fire Safety (Petroleum and Flammable Materials) Regulations.
